LETHBRIDGE, AB – Two people have been put behind bars after a robbery on Monday.

At approximately 1:45 pm, Lethbridge Police Service says a man stole a bag of tools from a business on the 2200 block of 32 Street South.

As the suspect ran to a waiting vehicle, an employee at the store followed him and jumped into the truck box to try to retrieve the tools.

The vehicle drove away, and as the employee tried to get out of the truck box, he was dragged for several feet and suffered minor injuries to his arms and hands.

Police were able to locate the vehicle in the Blackfoot Circle West area around 3:15 pm.

Two people exited the truck. One was apprehended immediately while the other allegedly tried to flee on foot.

The second suspect was arrested after a short chase.

Officers determined the truck was reported stolen the day prior from the Legacy Ridge neighbourhood.

Almo Yellow Face, 35, and Cory Hagen, 39, have each been charged with robbery, possession of stolen property over $5,000, assault with a weapon (vehicle), and resisting a peace officer.

They remain in custody awaiting bail hearings.
