TABER, AB – A Taber man has been charged following a string of events in the town.

Taber Police say on March 11, at around 4:45 a.m., they responded to a business in the industrial area. A suspect had attempted to gain entry to the business via the back door. Police say the suspect was not successful and fled prior to the arrival of officers.

On March 12, Taber Police received a complaint of the theft of a credit card. The card was used to make unlawful purchases at various retail locations in the town.

Once inside, police say the suspect stole an undisclosed amount of cash and “purposefully damaged two computers”. The suspect fled the scene before Taber Police arrived.

This past Sunday, April 4, after the investigation into these incidents, 29-year-old Chason Terry Marose was arrested.

Marose has been charged with break, enter and theft; break, enter and mischief; unlawful possession of a credit card; misuse of a credit card and mischief.

Following a Judicial Interim Release hearing, Marose was released by a Justice of the Peace, with a court date in Taber Court set for April 20, 2021.
