Rock thrown through Education Minister’s office window

RED DEER, AB – Education Minister Adriana LaGrange says a large rock was thrown through the window of her constituency office in Red Deer yesterday.

She posted photos on her Twitter account showing the damage.

“I am extremely grateful that my staff are safe and that no one was hurt,” LaGrange added.

The minister says there are more constructive ways to give feedback on the new draft kindergarten-to-Grade-6 education curriculum.

Alberta released the proposed curriculum last week, but many say it fails particularly in areas of First Nations history and residential schools.

A protest against the draft curriculum was to be held outside LaGrange’s Red Deer office yesterday before being moved online to comply with public health restrictions.
