34 new COVID cases in Lethbridge, 1,081 provincially

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Alberta Health Services has released its update on COVID-19 for Tuesday, covering statistics compiled over the past 24 hours.

1,081 cases were confirmed across the province, bringing the total to 163.119. Of those, 15,087 cases are active while 146,011 people have recovered.

705 of today’s cases were variants, or about 65 per cent.

In the South Zone, 55 people tested positive including 34 in Lethbridge.

Since yesterday’s update, three Albertans died from COVID with two in the Calgary Zone and one from the Edmonton Zone. To date, 2,021 Albertans have lost their lives due to the virus.

Provincially, 402 patients are currently hospitalized including 88 who have been admitted to intensive care.

With another 11,965 tests conducted over the past day, there has now been a total of 3,873,417 tests completed on 1,956,567 different people.

932,258 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered across the province.

  • 156 in hospital, 42 in ICU
  • 616 deaths (two new)
• Edmonton Zone – 60,679 cases, 3,717 active
  • 132 in hospital, 29 in ICU
  • 1,024 deaths (one new)
• North Zone – 16,020 cases, 2,005 active
  • 38 in hospital, four in ICU
  • 150 deaths
• Central Zone – 12,890 cases, 1,346 active
  • 43 in hospital, five in ICU
  • 124 deaths
• South Zone – 8,972 cases, 949 active
  • 35 in hospital, 10 in ICU
