Lethbridge Police arrest two on drug-related offenses

LETHBRIDGE, AB– The Lethbridge Police Crime Suppression Team (CST) has charged two people with drug-related offenses.

After a short-term investigation done by the CST, along with patrol and traffic members, the teams executed a search warrant at a home in the 1200-block of 5 Avenue South on Wednesday, April 21.

Activity at the home was consistent with drug trafficking police say.

In executing the search warrant 14.9 grams of fentanyl and 7.8 grams of cocaine were seized along with 13 grams of buffing agent (used to dilute illegal drugs).

Police say the total street value of the drugs is about $3,500.

Ken Leverington, 46, of Lethbridge, has been charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, and two counts of failing to comply with release conditions.

Amanda Old Shoes, 36, of Lethbridge, has been charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking. Both are in custody awaiting a Judicial Interim Release hearing.

Further charges may be pending for the two.

Police have not provided any further information.
