Police charge two men with drug trafficking in Lethbridge

LETHBRIDGE, AB– Lethbridge Police Service has charged two men with multiple drug-related charges and has seized almost $12,000 in drugs after observing suspicious activity of drug trafficking.

After searching the vehicle, police executed a search warrant of the home in the area of Lemoyne Crescent West.

The Crime Suppression Team seized: 75.4 grams of methamphetamine; 47.2 grams of cocaine; 0.9 grams of fentanyl; 42 pills including morphine, Oxycodone, and Xanax; 25.3 grams of MDMA (Ecstasy) and 25.8 grams of buffing agent (used to dilute illegal drugs).

Explicit paraphernalia associated with drug trafficking was also seized including a taser and bear spray. As well as $7,100 in cash and a 2006 Chevrolet Avalanche as proceeds of crime.

Joshua Alexander Drake, 31, was charged with: six counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking; possession of the proceeds of crime (under $5,000); possession of stolen property (under $5,000); possession of a dangerous weapon; unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon; possession of a prohibited weapon obtained by crime; and driving while disqualified.

Corey Adam Shaw, 33, was charged with four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of the proceeds of crime (under $5,000).

Both men remain in custody waiting for a Judicial Interim Release hearing.
