Lethbridge firefighters kept busy Tuesday afternoon putting out fires
LETHBRIDGE, AB- Firefighters in the city responded to three fires in the city Tuesday afternoon and continue to check for hot spots.
The first fire LNN was notified about was a fire in the London Road area. Firefighters responded to a back lane shed fire that spread to a nearby car in the 600 block on 4 street south. There were no injuries reported and the cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
Roughly 30 minutes prior to the back lane blaze, crews responded to another residential yard fire, in the 500 block of 12 street south. A couch and fence were reported on fire and spreading to the adjacent garage. A fence and bushes were then quickly extinguished by crews.
The third fire was a grassfire, located on the east side of Scenic Drive South, between Whoop-Up Drive and 4 street south. Approximately 80 square metres were burned, crews remained on scene for a while to monitor hot spots.
