Victoria, B.C. man sentenced to six years in connection with sexual assault case in Taber
TABER, AB – A Vancouver Island man has been sentenced to six years in custody in connection with an investigation in Taber.
In May 2015, the Taber Police Services began an investigation into sexual offences that occurred between 2007 and 2008. A female reported that while she was 15 years old and working at a restaurant in Taber, she was in a sexual relationship with her then 31-year-old manager. The relationship, according to police, occurred between April 2007 and November of 2008, before the manager moved to British Columbia.
The Taber Police Service investigation resulted in Richard Elliott, of Victoria, being charged with multiple sexual offences.
Constable Greg Schneider stated that, “our youth deserve to be safe when they start to venture out and join the work force.”
