Only one new COVID case in Lethbridge, 244 provincially

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Alberta Health Services has released Friday’s report on COVID-19, covering statistics compiled over the last 24 hours.

244 cases were confirmed across the province, bringing the total to 228,668. Of those, 5,415 cases are active while 221,010 people have recovered.

In the South Zone, nine people tested positive. Just one person from North Lethbridge contracted COVID.

Active infections in the city fell by 10 and regionally by 36.

Since yesterday’s update, seven Albertans died from COVID with three in the Edmonton Zone, two in the North Zone, and one each in the Calgary and Central Zones. To date, 2,243 Albertans have died as a result of the virus.

Provincially, 379 patients are currently hospitalized including 108 who have been admitted to intensive care.

2,951,927 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered as of the end of June 3.

With another 5,818 tests completed over the past day, there has now been a total of 4,552,352 tests conducted on 2,148,538 different people.

Since yesterday’s report, 153 new cases of COVID-19 variants were confirmed in Alberta.

• Calgary Zone – 92,912 cases, 2,188 active
  • 138 in hospital, 42 in ICU
  • 680 deaths (one new)
• Edmonton Zone – 77,068 cases, 1,415 active
  • 129 in hospital, 42 in ICU
  • 1,092 deaths (three new)
• North Zone – 25,916 cases, 762 active
  • 37 in hospital, nine in ICU
  • 183 deaths (two new)
• Central Zone – 20,378 cases, 713 active
  • 45 in hospital, 11 in ICU
  • 158 deaths (one new)
• South Zone – 12,376 cases, 331 active
  • 30 in hospital, five in ICU
  • 130 deaths

• Lethbridge County – 1,249 cases (one new), 33 active, 12 deaths
• Medicine Hat – 1,234 cases (two new), 54 active, 22 deaths
• Cardston County – 1,026 cases, 16 active, 17 deaths
• M.D. of Taber – 571 cases (one new), eight active, six deaths
• County of Warner – 464 cases, 25 active, three deaths
