LPS recover stolen vehicles and trailer during arrests

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Lethbridge Police have put two people behind bars.

Just after 10:00 pm on Friday, June 4, officers found what was believed to be a stolen truck hauling a travel trailer in the area of Eagle Road in north Lethbridge.

Two occupants were arrested on a series of outstanding warrants from multiple jurisdictions.

Police confirmed that the truck and a second vehicle parked nearby had been reported stolen while the travel trailer was fraudulently purchased earlier that evening.

β€œThe estimated value of the stolen goods is almost $19,000,” reads a media release from LPS.

Jamie George Hart, 34, of Coalhurst, is charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000, fraud over $5,000, uttering a forged document, identity fraud, two counts of drawing a document without authority, two counts of failure to comply with release orders, and multiple traffic violation tickets.

Hart was charged earlier by Taber Police and RCMP in relation to the two stolen vehicles.

Crystal Dawn Marie Szilagyi, 31, of Coalhurst, is charged with three counts of possessing a forged document, three counts of drawing a document without authority, and failure to comply with a release order.

Both of the accused remain in custody while awaiting bail hearings.
