Alberta records 127 new COVID cases Monday, the lowest in several months

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Alberta Health Services has released Monday’s report on COVID-19, covering statistics compiled over the last 24 hours.

127 cases were confirmed across the pandemic, one of the lowest single-day totals in a very long time. That brings the total to 229,319, of which, 4,707 cases are active while 222,364 people have recovered.

In the South Zone, nine people tested positive.

Active infections in Lethbridge fell by five and regionally by 20.

Since yesterday’s update, two Albertans died from COVID with one each in the Calgary and Central Zones. To date, 2,248 people in the province have died as a result of the virus.

Provincially, 351 patients are currently hospitalized including 94 who have been admitted to intensive care.

3,084,119 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered as of the end of June 6.

With another 4,027 tests conducted over the past day, there has now been a total of 4,568,610 tests completed on 2,152,890 different people.

  • Calgary Zone – 93,204 cases, 1,911 active
    • 140 in hospital, 35 in ICU
    • 681 deaths (one new)
  • Edmonton Zone – 77,243 cases, 1,273 active
    • 110 in hospital, 39 in ICU
    • 1,094 deaths
  • North Zone – 25,996 cases, 679 active
    • 36 in hospital, seven in ICU
    • 184 deaths
  • Central Zone – 20,464 cases, 599 active
    • 37 in hospital, eight in ICU
    • 159 deaths (one new)
  • South Zone – 12,398 cases, 243 active
    • 28 in hospital, five in ICU
    • 130 deaths

  • Lethbridge – 4,822 cases (one new), 68 active, 38 deaths
    • West Lethbridge – 1,766 cases, 34 active, three deaths
    • North Lethbridge – 1,606 cases, 12 active, 11 deaths
    • South Lethbridge – 1,449 cases (one new), 22 active, 24 deaths
  • Brooks – 1,497 cases (three new), 19 active, 15 deaths
  • Lethbridge County – 1,251 cases (one new), 27 active, 12 deaths
  • Medicine Hat – 1,241 cases (three new), 43 active, 22 deaths
  • Cardston County – 1,026 cases, seven active, 17 deaths
  • M.D. of Taber – 571 cases, five active, six deaths
  • County of Warner – 464 cases, 16 active, three deaths
  • M.D. of Pincher Creek – 305 cases, four active, five deaths
  • Fort Macleod – 319 cases, six active, six deaths
  • Cypress County – 295 cases, 13 active, zero deaths
