313 new COVID cases in Alberta Wednesday, one in Lethbridge

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Alberta Health Services has released Wednesday’s report on COVID-19, covering statistics compiled over the last 24 hours.

313 cases were confirmed across the province, bringing the total to 229,771. Of those, 4,204 cases are active while 223,311 people have recovered.

In the South Zone, five people tested positive.

Active infections in Lethbridge fell by four and regionally by 17. Across the South Zone, active cases have fallen to just 200.

Since yesterday’s update, five Albertans died from COVID with three in the Edmonton Zone and one each in the Calgary and North Zones. To date, 2,256 people in Alberta have died as a result of the virus.

Provincially, 329 patients are currently hospitalized including 83 who have been admitted to intensive care.

With another 8,545 tests conducted over the past day, there has now been a total of 4,580,621 tests completed on 2,155,908 different people.

• Calgary Zone – 93,399 cases, 1,691 active
  • 136 in hospital, 34 in ICU
  • 683 deaths (one new)
• Edmonton Zone – 77,353 cases, 1,114 active
  • 109 in hospital, 33 in ICU
  • 1,097 deaths (three new)
• North Zone – 26,062 cases, 624 active
  • 31 in hospital, six in ICU
  • 186 deaths (one new)
• Central Zone – 20,531 cases, 574 active
  • 29 in hospital, six in ICU
  • 160 deaths
• South Zone – 12,404 cases, 200 active
  • 24 in hospital, four in ICU
  • 130 deaths

• Lethbridge – 4,824 cases (one new), 57 active, 38 deaths
  • West Lethbridge – 1,767 cases (one new), 27 active, three deaths
  • North Lethbridge – 1,607 cases, 12 active, 11 deaths

• Brooks – 1,498 cases (one new), 14 active, 15 deaths
• Lethbridge County – 1,253 cases (one new), 24 active, 12 deaths
• Medicine Hat – 1,244 cases (three new), 39 active, 22 deaths
• Cardston County – 1,026 cases, six active, 17 deaths
• M.D. of Taber – 571 cases, five active, six deaths
• County of Warner – 464 cases, 12 active, three deaths
