Three charged in south Lethbridge drug bust, charges pending against fourth suspect

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Three people have been charged in connection with the seizure of drugs, weapons, cash and stolen property.

Lethbridge Police’s Crime Suppression Team (CST), with the assistance of several other units, wrapped up an investigation on Thursday, June 9. A search warrant was executed at a home in the 900 block of 7A Street South after police had observed “activity consistent with drug trafficking”.

Items seized included 10.8 grams of fentanyl, 22.7 grams of methamphetamine, 4.4 grams of psilocybin and four morphine pills, with a total value of around $3,700. Officers also seized over $1,000 in cash as the proceeds of crime, brass knuckles, bear spray and a pellet gun (due to prohibition). Stolen property, including a vehicle and other items that have already been returned to the owners, were also seized.

32-year-old Brandon Coster-Tarcon is charged with:

  • Two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking a controlled substance
  • One count of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Two counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000
  • Two counts of unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon
  • Two counts of possession of a prohibited weapon contrary to a prohibition order

21-year-old Taylor Kapp-Johnson is charged with:

  • Two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking a controlled substance
  • One count of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Two counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000
  • Two counts of unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon

37-year-old Stewart Lee Chasse is charged with:

  • Two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking a controlled substance
  • One count of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000

All three charged are from Lethbridge and remain in custody while awaiting Judicial Interim Release hearings. Lethbridge Police say charges are pending against a fourth individual.
