LPS seize drugs, cash, and weapons in Thursday arrests

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Two people remain behind bars after being arrested on drug-related charges.

On June 24, Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) says they saw a man conducting activities consistent with drug trafficking in the 800 block of 6 Ave South.

He and a woman left Lethbridge and drove to Fort MacLeod, where they met up with another person.

All three people were arrested, resulting in the seizure of 9.2 grams of fentanyl, 5.5 grams of cocaine, and 11.2 grams of meth. They have a combined street value of around $3,050.

$5,936 in cash was seized as well as a collapsible baton, a knife, and a BB gun, which one of the suspects was prohibited from possessing.

Wesley Johnson, 35, of Lethbridge, has been charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, resisting arrest, possession of the proceeds of crime, possession of an offensive weapon, and three counts of failure to comply with a release order in connection with previous drug and weapon-related charges.

He has an outstanding arrest warrant for failure to comply with a release order and remains in custody while awaiting a bail hearing.

Andrew Whiteford, 31, of Calgary, has been charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of the proceeds of crime.

He also had an outstanding warrant for failure to comply with a release order and remains in custody while awaiting a bail hearing.

Charges are pending against a 27-year-old woman.
