Grande Prairie farmer’s remote tractor tool earns award at Canada’s Farm Show

“I’ve been playing around with remote control stuff since I was a kid,” said Pawluski. “I just kind of seen the need for being able to get that tractor moving and going without actually having to run inside and flick the switches myself and then run back.”

“I started hardwiring one (a remote tractor starter) three years ago and when I got that one to work I was pretty excited. It’s just kind of escalated from there and we are just trying to soak in what’s going on right now.”

After he experimented with his initial product and got the remote starter working for his tractor, Pawluski posted a video of his invention on Twitter, which went viral amongst farmers around the world.

“I had (posted) a video on Twitter showing the tractor start by itself of the RPM and PTO increasing and decreasing and I gotten like 40 direct messages in 24 hours of guys saying, ‘I want this’ (on my tractor).”

Pawluski explains RCFarmArm benefits farmers greatly.

“It’s mostly for stationary PTO work. It’s important that you can control the tractor when you’re outside at a grain bagger or extractor, so you can safely shut the tractor off if something happens, so you don’t have to run from where you need to be standing to get into the cab to shut it off,” explained Pawluski.

“It could be a long way around the tractor and it could be icy, muddy or slippery and then you can fall going up and down the ladder.”

Pawluski mentioned he was a little surprised there was nothing like this before he invented it.

“I was kind of surprised there was nothing before to start the engine. I was quite surprised when I did my patent search, there are two applications that the big companies have done, but those were all hardwired integrated systems. There was nothing that was an after-market retrofit that went over top of the existing tractor controls.”

For winning the award at Canada’s Farm Show, Pawluski has turned the RCFarmArm into a company and was able to shoot a free promotional video with it. The video was then showcased at the Farm Show in front of farmers from across the country.

Pawluski is taking pre-orders for his product and said he’s even heard from people in Australia who’ve wanted to purchase the event.

He says launching the product has been a full family effort.

“The whole family is helping out with building and the necessary things to get the product out,” said Pawluski.
