Hwy 3 west of Fort MacLeod closed due to collision

FORT MACLEOD, AB – Major delays are to be expected just west of Fort MacLeod due to a multi vehicle collision, which has resulted in traffic being diverted on Highway-3.

The incident happened around 12:15, and involved three motor vehicles including a four-door sedan, an SUV, and a pick-up truck pulling a travel trailer.

The lone male occupant of the sedan sustained serious injuries and was flown out by STARS Air Ambulance. A second male who was driving the SUV was transported by EMS to an area hospital with minor injuries. The male and female occupant of the pick-up truck and trailer were not injured.

RCMP are asking motorists to avoid the area, as a Collision Analyst has been contacted to assist with the investigation. Traffic is expected to be diverted for several hours.
