LPS issues 158 tickets during Street Machine weekend
LETHBRIDGE, AB – Lethbridge’s annual classic car event brought out many spectators, but also caught the attention of numerous police officers.
Lethbridge Police Service (LPS), with assistance from Alberta Sheriffs, issued a total of 158 traffic violation tickets on Friday and Saturday.
“The majority of those tickets were issued for equipment violations and operator licence issues, such as suspended or expired licences,” reads a media release from LPS.
The police service said last week that they would be ramping up enforcement during Street Machine weekend, and if necessary, would use authorities under Section 66 of the Traffic Safety Act.
