LETHBRIDGE, AB – Lethbridge College is getting set to reopen its Recreation Services for the first time in more than a year.

Starting July 19, the fitness centre, Val Matteotti Gymnasium, squash and racquetball courts, the dance studio and other amenities will once again be available for bookings by college alumni and community members.

Manager of Kodiaks Athletics, Todd Caughlin said, “we are so excited to welcome everyone back to our campus and into our facilities.”

“We want to thank everyone for their patience throughout this pandemic as we worked to keep our campus safe for our students and employees. Our community members and alumni are an important part of our culture, and it is great that we can now bring them back to campus and our top-notch facilities.”

With the reopening, there are a few changes users will have to be aware of. All workout blocks, court rentals in the Val Matteotti gymnasium and squash and racquetball courts will have to be booked in advance through lcfitness.ca. Drop-in times will not be available, and all users will have to fill out a COVID-19 waiver on lcfitness.ca prior to every use of the Recreation Services facilities.

A release from Lethbridge College reads, “the top goal of Lethbridge College’s Recreation Services team is to keep all users healthy and safe, so enhanced cleaning of all areas will continue between workout blocks, and the use of masks while moving around the facility is highly recommended.”
