Man arrested in Lethbridge on 20 different charges

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Lethbridge Police have charged a 30-year-old man with 20 criminal code charges after he was previously arrested on outstanding warrants.

Police put out a social media plea for assistance to locate Lance Fred Chalifoux on July 22, 2021, due to Chalifoux having outstanding warrants for Assault with a Weapon, Assault Causing Bodily Harm, and Failure to Comply with Probation.

LPS deemed him to be “a risk to the public.

Police were able to locate Chalifoux later that same day in the area of Stafford Drive and 6 Avenue South.

Chalifoux attempted to flee from police on foot and while running away, shot at a Lethbridge Police Officer with an AirSoft replica handgun, striking the officer twice.

The suspect was taken into custody shortly after and while in police custody, Chalifoux assaulted two other Police Officers and additional charges were laid.

Chalifoux has been charged with numerous criminal code offences including:

Pointing a Firearm, Assaulting a Police Officer with a weapon, Assaulting a Police Officer x 2, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, and others.

He was remanded into custody. No further details were released this time.
