Lethbridge Airport getting $583K for customer-focused upgrades
LETHBRIDGE, AB – The federal government is giving millions of dollars to seven airports in the prairie regions, and Lethbridge is one of them.
Coming from Ottawa’s Regional Air Transportation Initiative, the Lethbridge Airport will receive a grant of $583,480.
“It is important to protect our regional air transportation ecosystems for the thousands of workers employed by this sector and for the many businesses and communities that depend on it,” says Economic Development Minister Melanie Joly. “We know that air connectivity to all regions is essential to healthy, inclusive economic growth, and supporting it is part of our plan to build back a stronger, more resilient economy.”
Mayor Chris Spearman says they will use this funding to put airport travellers first.
