Charges laid after gunshots fired Wednesday morning

LETHBRIDGE, AB – After gunshots were fired at a Northside home Wednesday, a man has been charged.

Mitchell Jeffrey Brandon, 29, of Lethbridge is charged with the following offences:

  • Section 346(1.1) CC Extortion with a firearm
  • Section 244.2(1)(a) Reckless discharge of a firearm
  • Section 88(1) Possession of Weapon Dangerous
  • Section 86 Careless use of firearm

Lethbridge Police went on to say that the people involved in this incident were known to each other.

The firearm used in these offences was located and seized by Police.

Brandon is currently in custody awaiting a Judicial Interim Release hearing while the investigation is ongoing.

Police in Lethbridge are investigating an incident on the north end of the city this morning.

LPS say several gunshots were fired at a residence in the 1800 block of 2B Avenue North on Wednesday.

Police reported that there were no injuries and officers believe this was a targeted incident.
