Hurricanes acquire conditional pick for Ethan Overman

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes have made another off-season move.

The team’s acquired a conditional sixth round pick in the 2023 Western Hockey League (WHL) Prospects Draft from the Spokane Chiefs. In exchange, the Chiefs will receive 2005-born defenseman Ethan Overman.

The 15-year-old was undrafted but listed by the Hurricanes. Originally from California, he spent the 2020-2021 season captaining the San Diego Saints 15U AAA club, where he recorded 29 points (eight goals, 21 assists), along with 18 penalty minutes in 37 games.

The Hurricanes are set to open their 2021 ENMAX Training Camp at the ENMAX Centre on September 9, with the annual Red vs. White intra-squad game scheduled for Sunday, September 12 at 2:00 p.m.

The ‘Canes start their 2021 ENMAX Pre-Season on Friday, September 17, hosting the Medicine Hat Tigers. Lethbridge will play four exhibition games, with both of their home games at the ENMAX Centre.

Single game tickets for the 2021-2022 regular season will go on sale Tuesday, September 7 at 10:00 a.m.

Lethbridge’s first game of the regular season is Friday, October 1. The ‘Canes will host the Calgary Hitmen.
