LETHBRIDGE, AB – A man was apprehended by Lethbridge Police earlier this month after a man’s face was injured during a knife attack.

LPS says a bicycle and a vehicle collided on 2A Avenue North when the cyclist tried to turn onto 13 Street on August 5.

According to police, the cyclist then slashed the driver of the vehicle across the face with a knife.

The victim is an employee of Thermax Refrigeration & Heating. In a social media post by the company, they say the employee required 17 stitches to his face and is expected to make a full recovery.

A witness provided LPS with a description of the suspect, who was arrested a short time afterwards on the 500 block of Stafford Drive North. The suspect did not suffer any injuries in the collision that required medical attention.

Peter Ajang, 46, of Lethbridge, is charged with aggravated assault and possession of an offensive weapon.
