LETHBRIDGE, AB – If you are eager to select who you think Canada’s next prime minister should be, you can cast your ballot in just a couple of day’s time.

Advance voting for the 44th federal general election begins on Friday, September 10 and runs every day until Monday, September 13.

Polling stations will be open on these days from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm.

Most eligible voters should have received their voter information card in the mail by now. If not, you can see this information by going to elections.ca or by calling 1-800-463-6868.

“For months, we have been working with public health authorities to deliver a safe in-person voting experience for Canadians,” says Chief Electoral Officer with Elections Canada Stéphane Perrault. “I encourage electors to make a plan and choose the voting option that best suits them, knowing that there are many safe ways to cast a ballot in this election.”

The following health and safety measures will be in place at polling stations:

  • Hand sanitizer stations will be set up at entrances and exits
  • Non-medical masks will be available
  • Poll workers will be required to wear face masks
  • Physical distancing and directional signage will be in place
  • Work stations, door handles, and other high-touch surfaces will be regularly cleaned

General voting day is Monday, September 20.
