PINCHER CREEK, AB – Don Anderberg hopes to make it term number six.

The incumbent in Pincher Creek’s mayoral race has served two terms as a town councillor and three as mayor, making for a combined 17 years at the decision-making table.

“I feel that my experience and knowledge of the community would continue to be of value to the community. I have a lot of background, and the times we’re in require some strong leadership skills, I believe, and a vast amount of knowledge about what’s happened in our community.”

Anderberg told LNN that he has a lot more to offer the town and that he would continue to put the needs of residents above his own.

He also served as the President of the Pincher Creek Golf Club and has owned and operated his own local business for around 25 years.

“I’ve always worked in the best interests of the community, I’ve never really had an agenda other than trying to do my best. I’m fully committed to continuing that work. We’ve had some great successes here and we’ve got a wonderful community. We’ve got it to the point where, I feel as the mayor, that we’re sustainable.”

One area Anderberg feels still needs a lot of work in Pincher Creek is housing.

He says that there are a lot of people who want to move there, but the town lacks available housing, including supportive living.

If re-elected, he says that will be one of his top priorities.

General voting day for the municipal elections is October 18.
