Close to 4,000 advance ballots cast at Exhibition Park’s drive-through over holiday weekend

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The City of Lethbridge’s drive-through advance polling stations were a success this weekend.

The city said between October 8, 9 and 10, almost 4,000 advance ballots were cast for the 2021 municipal elections. The drive-through polling stations were set up at Exhibition Park.

On Friday, October 8, 1,420 ballots were cast. On Saturday, 1,273 people voted and on Sunday, there were 1,212 advance ballots cast.

On Sunday, the city’s Returning Officer Bonnie Hilford noted that 3,950 people had voted in the advance polls, surpassing the entire 2017 advance voting number of 3,912.

The city also announced that due to the positive feedback from residents, the drive-through polling stations at Exhibition Park will be available for electors on general election day, October 18.
