LETHBRIDGE, AB – The first half of the Lethbridge Hurricanes’ road trip has not gone as they had hoped.

Following a 5-1 loss to Winnipeg on Wednesday, the Canes sought to get back on track in a Remembrance Day rumble against the Brandon Wheat Kings.

Thursday’s contest marked 100 career games for Captain Jett Jones.

The Manitoban men scored thrice in the first period with Landon Roberts, Rylen Roersma, and Riley Ginnell hitting the net.

By the end of the second period, Lethbridge still had not made it onto the scoreboard, although the Wheat Kings had another goal from Brett Hyland.

The Hurricanes rallied in the third period, however, as Logan McCutcheon scored 3:22 in thanks to assists from Justin Hall and Rhys Raeside.

Five minutes later, Joe Arntsen followed that up with another goal for Lethbridge. Trevor Thurston provided the assist on a power play.

With just 32 seconds left in the game, Landon Roberts got another point for Brandon.

Despite the final outcome, the Canes outscored the Wheat Kings 33-23.

Lethbridge has now lost six in a row, bringing them to an overall record of 5-9-0-0 on the season.

The Hurricanes hope to turn things around during the second half of their road trip, this time heading to Saskatchewan to face Regina on Saturday and Moose Jaw on Sunday.

The next contest at the ENMAX Centre will see Lethbridge welcome the Medicine Hat Tigers on Friday, November 19.
