412 COVID cases confirmed in Alberta, 10 in Lethbridge

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The province has released its latest report on COVID-19 for Friday, covering statistics from the past 24 hours.

412 cases were confirmed across the province, bringing the total to date to 331,626. Of that, 5,293 cases are active while 323,122 people have recovered.

With 8,673 tests completed in that time, the positivity rate was 4.8 per cent.

In the South Zone, 23 people tested positive with 10 in Lethbridge.

Active infections across the region fell by 27.

Since yesterday’s update, two people from the North Zone died from COVID, meaning 3,211 Albertans have lost their lives as a result of the virus.

Provincially, 496 patients are currently hospitalized including 93 who have been admitted to intensive care.

Below is a breakdown of cases per health zone in Alberta:

  • Calgary Zone – 122,266 cases, 1,829 active
    • 109 in hospital, 22 in ICU
    • 846 deaths
  • Edmonton Zone – 103,092 cases, 1,148 active
    • 160 in hospital, 42 in ICU
    • 1,308 deaths
  • North Zone – 45,718 cases, 1,033 active
    • 68 in hospital, seven in ICU
    • 383 deaths (two new)
  • Central Zone – 37,591 cases, 840 active
    • 106 in hospital, nine in ICU
    • 387 deaths
  • South Zone – 22,919 cases, 441 active
    • 53 in hospital, 13 in ICU
    • 287 deaths

Below is a breakdown of cases in the South Health Zone. The numbers in brackets show new cases or deaths over the past two days:

  • Lethbridge – 7,093 cases (10 new), 139 active, 62 deaths
    • West Lethbridge – 2,586 cases (one new), 49 active, eight deaths
    • North Lethbridge – 2,345 cases (three new), 50 active, 22 deaths
    • South Lethbridge – 2,155 cases (six new), 40 active, 32 deaths
  • Medicine Hat – 4,510 cases (four new), 62 active, 78 deaths
  • Brooks – 2,093 cases, nine active, 24 deaths
  • Lethbridge County – 1,963 cases (four new), 43 active, 19 deaths
  • Cardston County – 1,836 cases, 27 active, 39 deaths
  • M.D. of Taber – 1,281 cases, 48 active, 17 deaths
  • Cypress County – 845 cases, five active, six deaths
  • County of Warner – 780 cases, 23 active, four deaths
  • M.D. of Pincher Creek – 647 cases (one new), 17 active, 11 deaths
  • Fort Macleod – 570 cases (one new), 25 active, seven deaths
  • County of Newell – 499 cases, 20 active, eight deaths
  • County of Forty Mile – 343 cases, five active, five deaths
  • Crowsnest Pass – 170 cases (one new), six active, one death
