LETHBRIDGE COUNTY, AB – General voting day in the Lethbridge County Division 5 by-election is approaching, but residents will have an advance voting opportunity this weekend.

During October’s municipal election, there were no candidates in the county’s Division 5, resulting in the need for this month’s by-election to fill the vacant seat. The candidates are:

  • Brad Howe
  • Gerard Plettell
  • Eric Van Essen

General voting day is Monday, December 13 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Monarch Community Hall (330 Kipp Avenue in Monarch).

The advance voting day is set for this Saturday, December 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the county’s administration office in Lethbridge (#100 – 905 4 Avenue S.).

COVID-19 safety protocols will be in place at the voting locations, including social distancing between electors, frequent sanitization of voting stations, and masks and sanitizer will be available. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is not required to vote.

Division 5 of Lethbridge County is located in the northwest portion of the county, and includes Monarch and the area surrounding the Town of Nobleford and Village of Barons.
