RCMP confirms fatality in collision south of Coaldale

COALDALE, AB – A T-bone collision early Friday morning resulted in the death of one person.

At approximately 6:30 am, Coaldale RCMP Cpl. Murray Gordon confirms they and Coaldale EMS responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 4 and Highway 845.

A pick-up truck was headed eastbound on Highway 4 while another pick-up was southbound on Highway 845.

The male driver and lone occupant of one of the vehicles died on scene. Cpl. Gordon was unable to provide any further information about the deceased.

The male driver and lone occupant of the other vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to CRH in stable condition.

Highway 845 south of Highway-4 was shut down for 3.5 hours to allow for the RCMP investigation. Officers continue to investigate, however, drugs, alcohol, and speed are not considered to be factors.
