GORDON BERNARD THIELEN, beloved husband of Barbara Bianchi Thielen and the late Katie (Gaetz) Thielen, passed away suddenly ten days shy of his 93rd birthday. He was the oldest child of Xavier Thielen and Hilda Vornbrock.
Gordon was born and raised in the Allerston area and farmed there until moving to Milk River with Katie in 1994. They had 48 years together and in 2000 Katie passed away suddenly. At the age of 80 Gordon married a lifelong friend, Barbara Bianchi, and they had twelve wonderful years together.
This quiet, gentle man is survived by wife, Barbara and his children:
Son, Leonard and children; Stacey (Brent Barrows) – Kelsey (Lane Ferguson) – Harper and Tuftin; William and Ethan; Lannie (Erin) – Clyde and Kate; Jaime (Trevor Drapaka) – Hunter and Brooklyn.
Son, Wayne (Betty) and children; Trevor (Amanda) – Jonathan; Jody (Carl Strahl) – Caroline, Kenneth, Eric and Douglas; Brady (Jessica).
Daughter, Ramona and children; Nicole (Scott Rose) – Aurora; Michelle (Rob Auld) – Ella and Alex.
Daughter, Lois (Tim Andrew) and children; Cole (Allison), Clayton and Austin.
Son, Clifford (Joyce) and children; Ryan (Brittni) – Rhettlee Rae; Russell (Jessica) – Emma, Dawson, Grayson and Easton; Jessie May.
Son, Tom (Julie) and children; Chase (Rae Ann) – Tatum and Miles; Wacey (Jordyn).
Barbara’s children – Boyd (Colleen) Bianchi, Annette (Ken Long), Carleen (Konrad Galts), Darcy (Don Finkbeiner) and her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Sister, Rosy (Doug Helwig), brothers, Russell Thielen and Ken Wachtler (Janice) as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by wife, Katie and grandson Ted Andrew, sister, Burniece (Leland) Orcutt and brother Melvin (Marilyn) Wachtler.
A private Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. with Father Salvador Ahumada celebrating. The Mass will be livestreamed and may be accessed via Gordon’s obituary on the Cornerstone website.
Gordon will be laid to rest in the Allerston Cemetery.
