LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes say forward Yegor Klavdiev will represent Belarus at the World Junior Ice Hockey Championship Division I-A in Denmark.

Klavdiev, 18, was drafted by the Hurricanes in the first round (11th overall) in the 2021 Canadian Hockey League Import Draft.

From Minsk, Belarus has appeared in 21 games this season totaling nine points (5g-4a) along with four penalty minutes and sits fourth in team goals this season.

“The 5’11, 180-pound forward represented his country at the World Under-18 Hockey Challenge in May of this year where he recorded three points (1g-2a) along with four penalty minutes in five games.

Last year, Klavdiev played 24 games totaling 11 points (6g-5a) with 13 penalty minutes for the Belarus U18 National team while adding four points (2g-2a) in 13 games with Dinamo-Molodechno,” the Hurricanes release states.

The tourney will be from December 12th to 18th in Bitcoin Arena in Horsholm, Denmark.
