Decision reserved in Phillips surveillance case
LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Alberta Law Enforcement Review Board has reserved its decision on whether a Lethbridge police officer should face a tougher penalty for conducting surveillance on an N-D-P member of the legislature.
Last year, two officers were temporarily demoted after a review determined they had watched and photographed Shannon Phillips at a diner in 2017.
Phillips was Alberta’s environment minister at the time.
The officers involved were concerned about changes Phillips was making regarding off-highway vehicles at nearby wilderness areas.
