Local Sohil Bindra’s trial is still continuing throughout the week and should conclude soon.

In the first of three trials for Bindra, he is denying each of the sexual assault allegations against him.

Bindra, who was 33-years-old when he was charged with sexual assault and housebreaking, has had six separate complainants come forward about his alleged sex-related actions towards them spanning over the last four years.

The now 35-year-old Bindra was asked over the course of the last two days if he ever had sex with someone without their consent which he responded with “no”.

In the first trial, four separate alleged instances happened where Bindra sexually assaulted a woman after a bar.

It’s alleged that Bindra met two women at a bar on February 7 and 8 of 2020. A short time later, the 18-year-old woman began feeling unwell.

He reportedly took the two women home with his car, but later returned to the victim’s home and allegedly sexually assaulted her. Bindra was asked if he ever went back to the complainant’s house which he said “no”.

Bindra then allegedly kissed the other friend while driving her home which he called “consensual” but the story differs from Bindra and the alleged victim as she recalls it not being consensual.

In court, the crown prosecutor suggested that he went back to the complainant’s house and sexually assaulted her. Bindra replied, “I disagree.”

“You went up the stairs and removed her clothes and forced sexual intercourse on her,” the crown suggested. Bindra replied, “I disagree”.

When asked about each of Bindra’s sexual assault charges and accusations of him drugging these alleged victims, he denied every allegation.

Complainants three and four have different stories from years prior. It’s alleged that complainant three was at a Christmas party in 2018 when she was approached by a man named “Tony.” She needed a place to stay that night and Tony had a spare bedroom she could sleep in.

She took Tony up on his offer and was then allegedly sexually assaulted by him. She then found out that Tony’s real name was Sohil Bindra.

Bindra told the court it was consensual sex and said that complainant three was in control as “she removed her clothes”.

When asked, “did she make it clear that she didn’t want to have sex with her?”

Bindra replied with “no”.

In complainant four’s story, she and her friends were at a bar one night in the spring of 2018 when she started not feeling well and was approached by a man named “Tony B.”

She apparently knew him from the gym at the time and he was a familiar face. The woman then found herself in a car with no recollection of how she got there, and a man who she believed to be Tony B, was sexually assaulting herr. “Tony B” was identified to be Sohil Bindra.

Bindra claims that he was not at the bar that night and the alleged victim admitted that she “wasn’t sure” it was Bindra that evening as she never saw his face.

He tells a different story that complainant four and her were “close” and “seeing each other” for a while as he would give her drugs on occasion.’

While she said she knew him from the gym and both never saw each other, Bindra said “she’s been lots of times over at my house”.

When asked “did you ever administer GHB to anyone without their consent?” He strongly answered “no”.

Bindra’s trial will continue throughout the week and another witness is being called for Thursday morning.
