AMA encourages cautious driving as weather gets colder and roads get busier
LETHBRIDGE, AB – The cold temperatures and snow that has fallen in the past 24-hours might be helpful if you’re driving a sleigh with nine tiny reindeer, but for those with Christmas holiday driving plans in Alberta, maybe not.
Alberta Motor Association is urging people to drive with caution and make sure they have an emergency roadside kit.
A kit can include a few things you’ll likely have around the house and a few others that are easily available in stores. Such as a blanket, warm clothes, cell phone charger, caution triangles and flashlight.
If you are in an accident or think something is wrong with your vehicle, Brandon Klassen with AMA says to pull over and stop as far away from traffic as possible, before making any calls.
