House fire in Brooks claims one life

BROOKS, AB – Firefighters in Brooks are responding to a fatal house fire.

At approximately 3:50 am on Saturday, January 1, officials were called to a home on Greenbrook Road.

Upon the arrival of RCMP, two people had already evacuated the house. A third person, however, was unaccounted for.

Fire crews entered the home and removed the person. The 51-year-old died as a result of his injuries.

Crews are continuing to investigate, but the fire is not believed to be suspicious at this time.
