Christmas Hope campaign benefits over 7,500 people in need this holiday season
LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Christmas Hope campaign in southern Alberta proved to be a success this holiday season.
The initiative is a partnership between the Interfaith Food Bank, Lethbridge Food Bank, MyCityCare Shop of Wonders, the Salvation Army, Volunteer Lethbridge, and Lethbridge Family Services’ Angel Tree.
Baskets of gifts, toys and other supplies are delivered to families in need. For the 2021 campaign, Christmas Hope served over 5,000 babies, children and teens, and almost 2,500 adults. That’s more than 7,500 individuals in Lethbridge and the surrounding area.
Organizers say that’s an increase of 1,764 individuals helped over the holidays compared to 2020. More than 1,000 volunteers put in over 4,500 hours of work during the month of December.
