94 new COVID cases in Lethbridge Wednesday

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The province has released its latest report on COVID-19 for Wednesday, covering statistics from the past 24 hours.

During that time, 4,752 cases were confirmed. To date, the province has seen 384,126 positive tests. 343,597 people have recovered.

Active cases have shot up recently now sitting at 37,196 in the province.

The South Zone has seen a jump in infections of 195 while going up by 94 in Lethbridge.

Since yesterday’s update, 11 Albertans have died from COVID including one new from the South Zone. To date, 3,333 people in the province have died as a result of the virus.

The death reported in the South Zone was for a person from South Lethbridge.

Provincially, 470 patients are currently hospitalized with COVID including 94 who have been admitted to intensive care.

Below is a breakdown of cases per health zone in Alberta:

  • Calgary Zone – 148,316 cases, 18,473 active
    • 194 in hospital, 22 in ICU
    • 870 deaths (five new)
  • Edmonton Zone – 121,233 cases, 13,864 active
    • 131 in hospital, 38 in ICU
    • 1,338 deaths (three new)
  • North Zone – 48,386 cases, 1,288 active
    • 48 in hospital, three in ICU
    • 416 deaths (one new)
  • Central Zone – 40,736 cases, 1,781 active
    • 76 in hospital, six in ICU
    • 418 deaths (one new)
  • South Zone – 24,887 cases, 1295 active
    • 21 in hospital, three in ICU
    • 291 deaths (one new)

Below is a breakdown of cases in the South Health Zone. The numbers in brackets show new cases or deaths over the past 24 hours:

  • Lethbridge – 7,921 cases (94 new), 586 active, 63 deaths (one new)
    • West Lethbridge – 2,958 cases (34 new), 261 active, eight deaths
    • North Lethbridge – 2,557 cases (31 new),158 active, 22 deaths
    • South Lethbridge – 2,402 cases (29 new), 170 active, 33 deaths (one new)
  • Medicine Hat – 5,011 cases (47 new), 359 active, 78 deaths
  • Brooks – 2,146 cases (eight new), 36 active, 24 deaths
  • Lethbridge County – 2,101 cases (35 new), 77 active, 20 deaths
  • Cardston County – 1,919 cases (five new), 42 active, 40 deaths
  • M.D. of Taber – 1,341 cases (one new), 29 active, 18 deaths
  • Cypress County – 910 cases (seven new), 32 active, six deaths
  • County of Warner – 821 cases (two new), 20 active, four deaths
  • M.D. of Pincher Creek – 709 cases (nine new), 42 active, 11 deaths
  • Fort Macleod – 602 cases (three new), 25 active, seven deaths
  • County of Newell – 540 cases (three new), 11 active, eight deaths
