91% West Lethbridge residents 12+ are fully vaccinated, leading South Zone

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Updated numbers of the COVID-19 vaccine rollout have been released.

Across Alberta, AHS reports that 7,825,022 doses have been administered across the province.

89.5 per cent of people aged 12 and up have received at least one dose while 85.4 per cent are fully vaccinated with two shots.

Albertans at least 18 years old are eligible for a third booster dose provided at least five months have passed since their second. 31.5 per cent of eligible Albertans (1,085,327) have received a third dose.

Local breakdowns of booster doses are not available, but as far as full vaccination in the South Zone goes, Lethbridge continues to lead the way.

91 per cent of west siders who are at least 12 years old are fully immunized, followed by the city`s two other sections.

Lethbridge is the only city in the region to be above the provincial average in this regard.

The percentages of full vaccination with two doses in the South Zone for people aged 12 and up are as follows:

  • Lethbridge West – 91%
  • Lethbridge South – 86.5%
  • Lethbridge North – 86.2%
  • Medicine Hat – 82.6%
  • Pincher Creek – 82.1%
  • Cardston-Kainai – 80.3%
  • Newell (including Brooks) – 76.9%
  • Crowsnest Pass – 76.8%
  • Cypress County – 76.3%
  • County of Warner – 69.7%
  • Lethbridge County – 68.6%
  • Fort Macleod – 66.9%
  • M.D. of Taber – 58.7%
  • County of Forty Mile – 51.6%

The percentages of full vaccination with two doses in the South Zone for people aged five and up are as follows:

  • Lethbridge West – 82.4%
  • Lethbridge South – 80.6%
  • Lethbridge North – 79.4%
  • Medicine Hat – 75.8%
  • Pincher Creek – 75.5%
  • Crowsnest Pass – 71.8%
  • Cardston-Kainai – 70.6%
  • Cypress County – 69%
  • Newell (including Brooks) – 68.8%
  • County of Warner – 61.4%
  • Lethbridge County – 60.1%
  • Fort Macleod – 59.7%
  • M.D. of Taber – 51.1%
  • County of Forty Mile – 44.3%

Across Alberta, there have been 2,230 adverse events following immunization, which means there has been an adverse event in 0.028 per cent of vaccinations.
