1,191 Albertans hospitalized with COVID

Jan 21, 2022 | 4:07 PM

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The province has released its latest report on COVID-19 for Friday, partly covering statistics from the past 24 hours.

3,592 cases were confirmed across the province, bringing the total to 466,616. Of those, 61,615 cases are active while 401,572 people have recovered.

It should be noted that, on January 10, the province limited the number of people who can get a PCR test from AHS for COVID-19 to only those in high-risk settings. This likely means that the amount of people who have actually contracted COVID since then would be higher than what is being reported by the province.

In the South Zone, 676 people tested positive over the last two days for a daily average of 225.

Active infections for the region fell by 129 since Wednesday’s update and by 56 for Lethbridge since Tuesday’s update.
