Wednesday’s Canes game postponed

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The WHL has postponed two upcoming games due to COVID-19-related reasons.

Both involve the Saskatoon Blades and the fact that nine players are currently on the WHL COVID-19 Protocol List, meaning they are unable to field a full team.

On Tuesday, Jan. 25, the Blades were set to travel to Medicine Hat to take on the Tigers followed by a clash at the ENMAX Centre for a matchup on Wednesday with the Lethbridge Hurricanes.

“The health and safety of all WHL participants is the top priority for the WHL. In order to reduce the risk of exposure to and transmission of COVID-19, the WHL requires all WHL roster players, hockey operations staff, and other team and League office personnel to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with a Health Canada approved vaccine,” reads a statement from the WHL.
