Cardston RCMP reaching out to vehicle occupants who assisted in impaired driving collision

CARDSTON COUNTY, AB – RCMP are continuing their investigation into a fatal impaired collision.

LNN previously reported that, on the evening of Monday, February 14, an eastbound SUV failed to make a proper right-hand turn on Highway 505 west of Hill Spring, causing it to leave the roadway and roll.

The passenger, Ty Chief Moon, 25, of Levern, died following the collision while the driver, Jayleen Spotted Eagle, 19, of Glenwood, has been charged.

RCMP now says, shortly after the collision occurred, the driver flagged down a vehicle that was driving by for assistance.

The occupants, which include an adult man and woman, a youth, and an infant, provided assistance to the driver and waited with them while emergency responders made their way to the scene.

As Cardston RCMP investigates the collision, they are asking that the occupants of the assisting vehicle or anyone who may have witnessed the collision, call them at 403-653-4932.
