RCMP investigating suspicious death on Siksika Nation

SIKSIKA NATION, AB – A death on the Siksika Nation has been deemed suspicious.

On February 27, 2022 at around 9:02 a.m., Gleichen RCMP responded to a 911 report of an unresponsive female at a residence on the Siksika Nation.

The female was found deceased in the home. The RCMP says its initial investigation has indicated that the circumstances around the death are suspicious.

An autopsy is set to take place later this week and the next-of-kin have been notified.

The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit was called in to assist and has taken charge of the investigation. The RCMP Forensic Identification Section will also assist.
