LPS seeking suspect who assaulted 12-year-old boy

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) is asking for your help in finding a suspect who allegedly attacked a minor.

At approximately 7:00 am on Monday, March 14, LPS was called to the 1100 block of Glacier Drive South.

According to police, a 12-year-old boy was walking to school when he was approached by a man who was holding a baseball bat and yelled aggressively at the child.

“The subject chased the boy, pushed him to the ground, and smashed his cell phone,” reads a media release from LPS. “The boy suffered minor injuries in the assault.”

Police canvassed the area but were unable to find the suspect. The man reportedly fled the scene on foot when approached by a passerby.

The suspect is described as being a man between the ages of 20 and 30 with a thin build. He may have been wearing a dark-coloured hoodie and a hat.
