LETHBRIDGE, AB – Summer hours come into effect at Lethbridge’s Waste and Recycling Centre on Friday, April 1.

The city’s three seasonal Yard Waste Sites will also be opening, as the weather warms, and residents start their spring cleaning and yard maintenance. The Waste and Recycling Centre and Yard Waste Sites will continue to follow all current AHS guidelines to limit the transmission of COVID-19.

YARD WASTE SITES

  • Open seven days a week, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Each site uses a self-service model.
    • This meaning residents must be able to unload their own material.
  • Residents are reminded to keep a two-metre distance when interacting with any site staff or other customers.
  • Residents are asked to put material in paper bags to avoid having to de-bag material from plastic bags.
  • The following rules will be applied to help speed up the drop-off process and limit contact between staff and the public:
    • Only one customer will be allowed at the compactor at a time.
    • Only one customer will be allowed at the branch chipper at a time.

During times of high usage, residents with trailers full of material may be directed to the Waste and Recycling Centre to drop off their load. Residents are asked to not stop or line up on the roads. If a site is at capacity, they are asked to come back at a later time.
