LETHBRIDGE, AB – A popular golf tournament returns to Lethbridge this summer.

The 25th annual Val Matteotti Italian Open will tee off at the Lethbridge Country Club on Wednesday, August 10. The event has been on hiatus for the last two years due to COVID-19.

All proceeds from the tournament will benefit the Chinook Regional Hospital (CRH) Foundation.

To date, the event has raised over $1.6 million for the CRH Foundation, which has helped to support equipment purchases, special projects and programs at the Lethbridge-based hospital.

Allan Bartolcic, Executive Director of the CRH Foundation said, “after two years of cancellations, we are very excited for the Val Matteotti Italian Open to return.”

“As we take steps to return to normal, we couldn’t be more thankful to our sponsors and participants for their continued support in raising funds for much-needed healthcare services in our community.”

Safety protocols will be in place at the golf course and golfers are asked to stay home and send a replacement player if they feel sick.

More information about the tournament is available at the CRH Foundation website.
