May 27, 2022 | 8:16 AM

LETHBRIDGE COUNTY, AB – Assessment and property tax notices have been mailed out for residents of Lethbridge County. Payment is due by July 31, 2022.

Residents have many ways to pay:

  • By mail;
  • In-person at the county’s administration office in Lethbridge – Monday to Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.;
  • Through their bank;
  • Online with a debit or credit card through Plastiq

A 5% penalty will be applied after July 31, 2022 on outstanding tax balances. If a resident does not receive a tax notice by June 10, they must call the county at 403-328-5525.

Lethbridge County noted that penalties will not be waived if residents do not receive their notice and do not contact the county. For property owners who bought their property this year, they are advised that Lethbridge County may not yet have a record of their title due to delays at Alberta Land Titles.

This month, Lethbridge County Council approved the 2022 tax rates, which represent an almost 0% increase due to higher assessment values across the region. Collections from the province have gone up since 2021, including 33% for policing and more than 7% each for education and Green Acres Foundation requisitions.

More details are available at the Lethbridge County website.
