LETHBRIDGE, AB – This week in Lethbridge, there are plenty of events taking place. You can learn new a new hobby, support a charitable cause, or learn about interesting topics.

Have you ever wondered how human beings can understand music and rhythm? At the Water Tower Grill & Bar on Tuesday, May 31, you can learn about auditory perception during this 30-minute presentation and one-hour question period being hosted by Dr. Matt Tata for the Community Neuroscience Series.

The event is free to attend but organizers recommend contacting the Water Tower Grill & Bar in order to make a reservation for the event.

Feel like eating a tasty meal while supporting charity? On Thursday, June 2, you can enjoy a steak dinner, bid on items in a silent auction, and even shave your head, all in an effort to raise funds at the Lethbridge Cancer Shave and Steak Dinner at The Canadian Brewhouse.

Dinner tickets for the event are $25. For every ticket sold, $7 goes towards the Canadian Cancer Society. You can purchase yours from Expedia Cruises Lethbridge or contact the hosts to arrange a ticket drop-off.

The event kicks off at 6:00 p.m. and runs until 8:00 p.m., and don’t worry, if you are looking to sign up to brave the shave, you can do so by contacting their Facebook page.

Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society will be accepted at the event, and for those who can’t attend but still want to donate, you can do so on the Canadian Cancer Society website.

Also on Thursday, June 2, the Lethbridge Public Library and Lethbridge Pride Fest are hosting an event to learn about Geocaching at the Lethbridge Public Library Crossings Branch.

The event starts at 6:30 p.m. and for this introductory session, you’ll learn everything you need to know to begin searching for over 300 geocaches hidden around Lethbridge.

This free event will also include information on the new Rainbow Series and is open to all ages.

Gain some insight on Friday, June 3 at Thriving with ADHD. Happening at The Collective Community & Coffee Shop from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. you can learn tips and tricks to manage your own or to support someone you care about who has ADHD.

The event is free to those wanting to attend and features three speakers, each with their own area of expertise.

Those interested in attending can register for the event on the organizer’s website, which will also send you a text reminder on the day of the event.

Looking to unwind and put some of that knowledge you gained at the auditory perception presentation to good work? Head down to The Slice Bar & Grill on Friday, June 3, and check out L’omelette.

L’omelette is a band from Calgary, and according to its Facebook page, is “Big, colourful, emotional art-rock. Jazzy vocals over curious progressions and dance-inducing rhythm.”
