LPS seizes firearms and stolen property during search of north side home

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Two Lethbridge men have been charged with offences relating to firearms and stolen property.

On May 28, 2022, the Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) received a report of a theft from a home on the 500 block of 26 Street South.

A subsequent investigation led officers to a house on the 1600 block of 2 Avenue North where two people were arrested.

Police seized three firearms, ammunition, bear spray, and stolen property including a vehicle from the home.

Donovan James Holmberg, 36, and Nelson Myles Mumford, 35, both of Lethbridge, have been charged jointly with three counts of possession of an unauthorized firearm, three counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000, two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm in a vehicle, theft under $5,000, possession of a prohibited firearm, and breach of a firearms prohibition.

Both were remanded in custody.

Further charges may be pending.
