In-person Canada Day celebrations returning to Lethbridge

LETHBRIDGE, AB – In-person Canada Day festivities are returning to Lethbridge this summer.

After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the July 1 celebrations will return to Henderson Lake Park and Galt Gardens. Events in the north east end of Henderson Lake Park will start at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, July 1, 2022. Activities will include the food hub, a kids’ zone, live performers and fireworks.

Attendees will be able to enjoy a multitude of food options with many food trucks on site. The kids’ zone will have different activities including bouncy castles, family friendly theatre shows and face painting.

A partnership between the City of Lethbridge and the Allied Arts Council will see performances on the main stage throughout the day, along with guest speakers starting at 4 p.m.

The day will conclude with a nighttime fireworks display at 11 p.m.

GALT GARDENS

In addition to the fun at Henderson Lake Park, Galt Gardens will once again be the venue for a Show & Shine hosted by the Le Baron’s Car Club from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Visitors can kick off their Canada Day celebrations by enjoying a free breakfast at 9 a.m., hosted by the Interfaith Food Bank.

DECORATING CONTEST

The City of Lethbridge will host a decorating contest for Canada Day 2022. Residents can decorate their home, business or sidewalk with Canada themed flair and have a chance to win a prize.
